A little more guidance

When should I recite each dua?

The first supplication is for entering the mosque. The second is for leaving it. Both are recorded together in Sahih Muslim 713a.

Are the entering and leaving duas the same?

No. On entering, you ask Allah to open the doors of His mercy. On leaving, you ask Him for His bounty. The two cards keep the wording and occasion separate.

Why are these shorter than some versions I have learned?

This page follows the wording in Sahih Muslim 713a. It does not combine additional phrases from other narrations into these two texts. A longer version should be checked against its own references.

Should I repeat these duas three times?

The narration cited here does not specify a threefold repetition. No repeated count or repetition counter is assigned on this page.

Does “masjid” mean the same as “mosque”?

Yes. Masjid is the Arabic word commonly translated as mosque. “Dua for entering the masjid” refers to the same supplication shown here.

Can I use transliteration to learn the words?

Transliteration is a reading aid, but English letters cannot represent every Arabic sound exactly. Practise with the Arabic text and ask a knowledgeable teacher for help with pronunciation.
